YAKAMA LANGUAGE TEACHER

180 DAYS PER YR/3 HRS PER DAY (.429 FTE)

ANTICIPATED START DATE: August 13, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Washington State First Peoples' Language, Culture and Oral Traditions Teacher Certification authorized by OSPI and issued in partnership with the Yakama Nation. Required
• Valid Washington State Driver's License. � Required
• Demonstrated proficiency in (Yakama/Sahaptin Language). � Required
• Must be able to pass a Washington State Patrol/FBI Criminal History Background Check. - Required
• Demonstrated knowledge of Yakama culture, history, traditions, customs, and protocols.
• Experience working with Native American students, families, and communities.
• Strong classroom management, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with district staff, Yakama Nation representatives, families, and community partners.
• Ability to integrate culturally responsive and culturally sustaining instructional practices into daily instruction.
• Must be able to pass a Washington State Patrol/FBI Criminal History Background Check. Required

RCW 49.58.110 REQUIREMENTS
Hourly rate: $28.22 - $61.07 (Depending on Experience & Education)
