Job Description

You may not always see it, but our technology is embedded everywhere. At BAE Systems our Electronic Systems (ES) Sector engineers develop the advanced electronics that power the world’s most important missions—from keeping pilots safe in combat and ensuring communications in space to enhancing the precision and survivability of next-generation defense systems. Our innovations enable the F-35 fighter jet, strengthen electronic warfare capabilities, and support intelligence and surveillance networks that protect national security every day.

We are seeking entry level candidates to come join our software engineering team at BAE Systems in southern New Hampshire in the spring/summer of 2026. Here, you’ll work alongside some of the brightest minds in engineering, tackling complex technical challenges that shape the future of defense and aerospace. What You’ll Do
As an Entry-Level Software Engineer, you’ll join a multi-disciplinary team where you’ll:
  • Design, develop, and test software for advanced defense and space systems.
  • Contribute to full lifecycle engineering—from coding and debugging to integration and system testing.
  • Collaborate with system, hardware, and test engineers in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Support field demonstrations, software installations, and system-level testing.
  • Gain exposure to advanced technologies and tools while building the foundation for a long-term engineering career.
Your First Year: The Year One (YO) Experience
Every new engineer joins our Year One (YO) program—a curated experience designed to help you thrive from day one.
  • Connect with peers and leaders across the company through team-building events and networking sessions.
  • Participate in workshops, training modules, and mentorship opportunities that accelerate your technical and professional growth.
  • Gain a dedicated peer mentor and support team to guide your first year as a BAE Systems engineer.
  • Participate in rotations to build your technical skillset.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
  • Every other Friday off with our 9/80 schedule.
  • Meaningful mission: Your work directly supports the safety and success of those who serve.
  • Mentorship and career growth: Structured support from experienced engineers and leaders.
