We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Data Analyst Intern to join our Finance Services team. The intern will support Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions by assisting in financial reporting, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance while developing technical and analytical skills in a collaborative environment.

Symetra's Internship Program for Summer 2026 is entirely remote - all interns will learn and work in a virtual setting. The internship duration is 12 weeks, and we offer two sessions: May 18 – August 7 or June 15 – September 4.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial reports across Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Payroll.
- Perform data cleaning, validation, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to Finance leadership.
- Collaborate with Finance team members to improve reporting efficiency and streamline processes.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis tools).
- Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
