Our Internship Program provides undergraduate students with a structured and meaningful learning experience designed to prepare them for future careers and help them make informed decisions about their professional aspirations. This 10-week opportunity focuses on building foundational business knowledge while helping interns understand how to effectively operate and grow in a corporate environment.

This opportunity is part of SEI’s broader professional and leadership development continuum, designed to support early career talent as they explore potential career paths. While the internship does not guarantee full-time placement, it provides meaningful exposure to SEI’s culture, ways of working, and development opportunities that may support future consideration for additional early career programs.

Interns will work in a hybrid model from our corporate headquarters in Oaks, Pennsylvania.

In addition to on-the-job experience, Interns can expect to:

• Build foundational professional skills and strengthen business, industry, and technical acumen through a weekly seminar series

• Develop practical workplace capabilities through interactive sessions focused on how work gets done in a corporate environment

• Participate in an on‑demand summer learning plan curated by our People Development team to support business knowledge and professional development  

• Gain exposure to SEI’s business, teams, and culture through hands‑on experiences and group activities

• Receive regular coaching and guidance through one‑to‑one sessions with the program manager to support professional growth and career exploration

• Connect with members of the broader SEI workforce through career story sessions and informal coffee chats

• Build meaningful relationships with fellow interns through several events held throughout the summer

• Receive a resume review and professional headshot to support future career opportunities

Qualities successful interns bring to SEI

• Academic achievement in Business or Technology related fields of study such as finance, accounting, economics, marketing, computer science, or data analytics

• Leadership involvement in university or community organizations (e.g., charities, clubs, athletic teams, honor societies)

• A grade point average of 3.5 or above

• General awareness of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and an interest in learning how AI can be used responsibly and effectively in a professional work environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A strong work ethic and sense of accountability

• Enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation

IMS Alternative Investments Fund Accounting Overview:

Within the expanding Alternative Operations segment of our Investment Manager Services division, we deliver comprehensive accounting and administration services to a wide range of alternative investment managers, including both hedge funds and private equity clients. Our dedicated and collaborative team is committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring the highest standards of quality to meet our clients' needs.

IMS Alternative Investments Fund Accounting Intern:

The Fund Accounting Intern supports the team in processing client information and transactions related to hedge and private equity funds. This internship offers hands-on experience in reviewing, analyzing, and entering client data, assisting with requests, and helping resolve processing issues. The intern will gain exposure to the Analyst role and learn how to provide accurate and value-added servicing to SEI’s alternative clients.

Assist with reviewing, analyzing, and entering client information and transactions into processing systems. Help identify and address basic processing issues to support the accurate completion of requests. Provide support in accounting and administrative tasks for assigned hedge and private equity funds. Help maintain official records for funds while learning about data accuracy and compliance requirements. Contribute to client servicing by proactively supporting process improvements and addressing client needs as guided by supervisors. In addition, you will assist with process efficiency projects by supporting initiatives aimed at streamlining workflows and improving operational effectiveness.

Criteria:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in processing systems and Microsoft Office Suite, including Co-Pilot

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting
