Job Purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our Accounting Operations Accounts Receivables team. This internship offers hands-on experience and an opportunity to learn about Accounts Receivables of the department’s function within the industry.

 

This internship provides hands-on experience in finance reconciliation and financial reporting, offering practical exposure to general ledger reconciliation, monthly close processes, and audit support. The Accounting Operations team ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data for Finance Receivable products including Dealer Financing, Consumer Lease & Loans, and Asset Backed Securitization. The department supports monthly financial close processes, maintains general ledger reconciliations, and provides critical schedules and reports to Financial Reporting and External Auditors. This internship offers valuable skills applicable to a career in corporate accounting and finance

Key Accountabilities

Some key responsibilities and/or projects will include but are not limited to:

 

  • Assist with daily and monthly GL to system reconciliations, identifying and researching variances.
  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly audit schedules and financial reports.
  • Help prepare journal entries and account adjustments during monthly close cycles.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

We are looking for inspiring students with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic. As an Intern she/he must have: 

 

Seeking a Junior, Senior, or Masters student pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting

 

Knowledge/Skills in the following:

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with Oracle/PeopleSoft is a plus

 

 

Requirements for the program

  • Must be enrolled as a Junior, Senior, Master’s, or MBA student at an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Available to work onsite at our Torrance location.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, for a minimum duration 6–8 weeks (depending on school schedule).

 

Please note: There is no guarantee of full-time employment upon completion of the internship.

Paid Compensation $22.50 Undergrad, $29.25 Graduate students (no negotiation on compensation)
