About this role

This position is a 1.0 FTE position located at the Syphax Education Center. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Function as an itinerant clinician to provide appropriate "educational model" occupational therapy services for
    identified students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to provide integrated programs for special education students.
  • Determine through occupational therapy evaluation procedures appropriate model and level of service required for
    each student.
  • Document student progress with periodic updates.
  • Keep accurate records on caseloads including attendance. 
  • Willing to work with students preschool-age through 21 years, with a variety of disabilities.
  • Willing to collaborate with regular and special education teachers to provide integrated educational programming. 

Experience: 

  • Experience in public school system occupational therapy program or pediatrics preferred.

Qualifications: 

  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Must be registered nationally as qualified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT),
    or completion of registration upon employment.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is
    preferred but not required.

Salary: 

  • Salary based on the 2026-27 salary schedule.
