About this role

100% Onsite - Durant, OK | Monday-Friday | 8:00AM-4:30PM 

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Perform technical and administrative accounting work in maintaining the fiscal records and systems. You will report to the accounting supervisor.

Primary Tasks:

1.    Execute complex multi-coding for utility and telecommunications billing through the advanced use of Excel templates. Responsible for data normalization, accounting string validation, and the preparation of large-scale batch invoice spreadsheets for system upload or by manual upload, ensuring 100% accuracy in departmental cost distribution.                         
2.    Conduct monthly and quarterly audits of 1099 reports to ensure that invoice lines are tax reportable. Lead the year-end processing, printing and mailing of 1099 forms. Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries regarding tax forms and corrected 1099s.
3.    Ensure timely and accurate processing of monthly Gaming Commission batch invoices, Tribal Member monthly Medicare Part B batch invoices, and complex monthly NSSC invoices.
4.    Process, audit, and match monthly complex invoices to Choctaw Nation Credit Card Program for all Procurement buyers.
5.    Monitor accounts payable aging and follow up on outstanding items to avoid late payments.
6.    Process domestic and international wire transfers, ensuring absolute accuracy in banking data and amounts. 
7.    Ensure electronic virtual credit card digital transactions are reconciled, correctly cleared, or are processed as check when expired.       
8.    Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

·    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or 4 years related experience.
·    Understanding of modern accounting theory, principles and practices
·    Basic knowledge of internal control procedures and management information systems
·    Basic knowledge of office automation and computerized financial applications
·    Basic knowledge of accounts payable functions
·    Basic knowledge of budgetary, accounting and reporting systems
·    Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
 

 

 

Responsibilities

1.       You will perform general ledger accounting, maintain accounting records, and prepare monthly financial statements. 2.       Monitor accounts receivable collections from individuals and institutions; reconcile accounts, revenues and fees. 3.       Perform accounts payable tasks such as verifying all invoices for payment, ensuring that expenditures are charged to appropriate accounts. 4.       You will prepare schedules and invoices, provide explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and prepare other necessary data for external auditors. 5.       You may file appropriate forms and reports with federal, state or local agencies. 6.       You will maintain records of financial transactions with appropriate supporting documents. 7.       Reconcile general ledger accounts to their related subsidiary ledgers and adjust the general ledger accordingly. 8.       May help prepare monthly financial statements. 9.       Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
