Job Description:

Hourly Rate: $23.08

Financial Services seeks an Accountant Associate to perform accounting, banking and customer service functions requiring initiative and independent judgement in support of the goals and objectives of Financial Services. This position is part of the ASU Payables and Reimbursements department.

Applicant must be eligible to work in the United States; ASU Financial Services will not be a sponsor for this position.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform specialized Accounts Payable processes including but not limited to wire payments, check cancelations and reissues, check deposits.

  • Obtaining, analyzing and verifying bank information for wire payments.

  • Utilize OCR technologies to review, audit, and process a high volume of invoices and expense reimbursements through ASU’s financial management system, ensuring adherence to established financial policies and procedures.

  • Utilize AI-enabled SmartBot to automate monitoring and responding to communications from the shared AP email box.

  • Manage Accounts Payable Wire shared email box, ensuring timely resolution of requests and issues.

  • Prepare and maintain recurring financial and operational reports.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal departments and external suppliers.

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable operations and procedures.

  • Proven experience with wire payments, check cancellations and reissue, check deposits.

  • Proficiency in using Workday or similar enterprise financial management systems.

  • Proficient in Adobe, Zoom and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience in performing detailed numerical computations.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Working Environment:

  • Operate effectively in an office environment, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and copiers.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, as required by job duties.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written forms.

  • Read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions with accuracy.

  • Occasionally lift and transport items weighing up to 25 pounds.
