This Staff Accountant will support the internal and external financial reporting process, assist in the preparation of SEC filings and earnings releases, support external audit and tax preparation, and analyze General Ledger (GL) accounts and transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with share-based compensation accounting transactions and analysis.
- Support the preparation of quarterly earnings release.
- Preparation of the SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings.
- Facilitate the XBRL tagging process.
- Support GAAP and SEC compliance over financial reporting.
- Assist with monitoring and assessment of financial accounting regulations and pronouncements.
- Assist with monitoring and preparation of state regulatory-compliant financial statements.
- Reconcile GL accounts and clear transactions.
- Analyze GL accounts and transactions and supply variance explanations.
- Support the external audit and tax preparation processes.
- Follow proper operational and internal controls over financial reporting and processes assigned.
- Record, document, and support all transactions in accordance with company policies, generally accepted accounting principles, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
- Research accounting topics, guidance, and other SEC filings.
- Draft technical accounting memos on the application of new and existing accounting standards.
- Assist with preparing analyses for accounting project work and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
- Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Must pass all pre-employment screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of professional accounting experience.
- Public Accounting and SEC experience
- Financial services industry experience a plus
- Multi-unit experience
