S:US is seeking an Accountant to assit the Finance department. 

 

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

 

The Support Services functions at S:US are carried out by a team of professionals with differing backgrounds who share deeply in the S:US mission. We provide resources and support to the program departments to collectively pursue that mission. Support Services is a collegial, supportive and dynamic culture that continuously seeks to improve. The purpose of the Finance Department at S:US is to fulfill the organization’s mission in the most effective and efficient manner and to remain accountable to stakeholders, including clients, partners, funders, employees, and the community. To accomplish this, the Finance Department commits to providing accurate and complete client financial data for internal and external use.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for working on all aspects of accounting associated with rent collection, residential billing, and maintenance of client funds.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Rent Collection and Residential Billing

  • Review, analyze, and reconcile Client Rental Ledgers in Yardi and RFMS
  • Create and maintain Accounts Receivable Aging Report and Summary Data
  • Participate in collaborative, interdepartmental Rent Collection process

Client Fund Maintenance

  • Assist in the movement and maintenance of client funds in dedicated accounts in RFMS
  • Review funding requests and disburse funds to clients via US Bank Debit Cards

Ensure Data Accuracy

  • Assist with maintaining an accurate resident directory in property management software
  • Assist with year-end audit and various grant audits
  • Responsible for on-going projects as per request of Client Financial Services Manager of Accounting, Controller and other Senior Management
Job Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Excel (pivot table and VLOOKUP – a must), Word and Outlook
  • Effective written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Experience in Yardi & Property Management
  • Experience in an accounting role in a not-for-profit organization
