About this role

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).  Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site’s Cold War legacy.  Our VISION is to be the user site of choice for large-scale, high-hazard, national security experimentation, with premier facilities and capabilities below ground, on the ground, and in the air. Responsibilities

We are seeking an Accountant I (Accounts Payable) whose duties in this role would include to perform accounting activities associated with vendor and employee payments, match vendor invoices to purchase orders and reimburse employee expenses in accordance with government regulations and perform account reconciliations and perform general ledger entries within Oracle Fusion.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase order and non-purchase order invoices, performing two-way and three-way matches.
  • Process travel expense reports in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and Company procedures.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis.
  • Prepare reports and assist with metric data gathering and analysis.
  • Prepare electronic funds transfer (EFT) and check disbursement batches.
  • Import data files to generate automated disbursement batches.

Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management or other business-related field or equivalent training and experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong customer service skills with internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with software applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to maintain contact with personnel within Company departments to verify data, correct discrepancies, and prepare reports. 
  • Mental alertness, attention to detail, and high degree of accuracy are required in writing work-related.
    documents and ensuring all MSTS policies and procedures are followed. 
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities of the work assignment. 
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills. Must be able to deal with pressures of deadlines, heavy workloads, and constant interruptions
  • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

 

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Hourly salary range for this position is: $25.50 - $38.25

 

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
