About the Position:
The Accountant I is used in the City Treasurer's Office to fulfill Banking and Accounts Receivable functions. The current opening in the City Treasurer’s Office is for the Banking Accountant.
The Banking Accountant performs daily and monthly reconciliations, analyzes account activity, and prepares and posts journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position also maintains cash and cash controls in accordance with established policies and procedures, while providing responsive and professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The midpoint salary is $77,688 annually.

Position Duties
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other business-related field from an accredited educational institution.
- Two years of accounting experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
- Any equivalent combination of education and/or job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
