Job Description:Westgate Resorts is seeking an Accountant I to support our on‑site Accounting team in Gatlinburg, TN. This full‑time, on‑site role is hiring immediately. The Accountant I is responsible for month‑end close activities, general ledger work, reconciliations, and routine journal entries supporting a high‑volume resort operation.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience in a month‑end close or general ledger environment and is comfortable working with accounting systems, Excel, and financial reporting processes. You’ll collaborate with accounting leadership and property operations to ensure accurate financial data and timely close cycles.

What You Will Do:
- Prepare general ledger closing entries
- Review, analyze and present financial statements
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Reconcile general ledger balance sheet accounts and maintain proper backup
- Exercise proper judgment and present findings with recommended solutions
- Provide assistance to staff members and department managers
- Carry out any reasonable request by management within the scope of the role

What You Will Bring:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a month‑end close general ledger environment
- Timeshare accounting experience preferred
- Experience with ERP software required, preferably Oracle
- Proficiency in Excel and Word (ability to create and interpret spreadsheets)
- Ability to pass a basic accounting and Excel assessment
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime to meet financial reporting deadlines
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting strongly preferred)
