Join our dynamic Finance Department as an Accountant I - Payroll, where you'll take on a variety of essential accounting and administrative tasks! In this role, you'll oversee payroll processing, manage benefit payments, and ensure accurate reconciliation of payroll general ledger accounts. Your expertise will help us prepare impactful reports and assist with miscellaneous billing and grant accounting. With access to sensitive documents and records, maintaining confidentiality is paramount.
Payroll Accountant
Under the direction of the Senior Accountant, the Payroll Accountant is responsible for assisting with payroll processing and payroll-related accounting functions for the City. Responsibilities include processing payroll transactions, maintaining employee payroll records, reconciling payroll accounts, preparing payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. Misc. billing & reconciliation assistance as needed to include grant accounting and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and two years of payroll and accounting. An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Process Overview:
