BAE Systems has an opening for a full-time remote Accountant I within the ES US Defense Organization. We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, exhibits the ability to work independently and demonstrates strong skills as a team player. This position provides an opportunity to be a key contributor in a fast-paced financial accounting environment. This is a dynamic role with opportunities to participate on projects in support of the organization's objectives. This role is responsible for the application of a broad knowledge of accounting principles in the analysis and evaluation of program financials (Orders, sales, income, backlog, inventory, receivables) to ensure compliance with established policies and practices; providing support and guidance to the program finance community in the review and reporting of program financial results; and providing contribution to the program accounting staff in the performance of their responsibilities. Experience acquired in this role will provide a comprehensive base to the company financial systems and processes useful for future positions in Finance.

***This role involves a combination of independent and collaborative work and can be conducted 100% remotely. Though the role is full-time remote, the business function requires this individual to reside within a 2-hour drive of Nashua, NH, and are only considering applicants from either NH, MA, or ME at this time.****
Roles and Responsibilities:
Monthly/Quarterly/Year-end Closings - overseeing the preparation and execution of closing requirements.
Account Reconciliations - Prepare monthly account reconciliations of company balance sheet accounts (inventory, unbilled receivables) to ensure that reported statements reconcile to the company books of record, and all reconciling items are properly accounted for.
Contract Close-outs - Prepare a financial reconciliation of contracts in close-out upon final billing rate negotiations.
Audit Support - Support various internal and external audits to ensure compliance with established accounting practices. Prepare various data requests in support of accounting and financial systems audits (FCF, DCAA, Deloitte).
Special Projects - Review and update of financial policies and procedures. Support the organization's continuous improvement initiatives.
