Job Summary:

The Hotel Accounting Assistant supports the daily financial operations of the hotel by performing clerical and administrative accounting tasks. This role ensures accuracy in financial transactions, assists with bookkeeping duties, and maintains organized records to support the hotel's accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Transactions & Bookkeeping:

  • Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing, including invoice verification, payment processing, and collections.
  • Reconcile daily revenue reports and verify transactions against hotel records.
  • Prepare bank deposits and cash reconciliations while ensuring proper handling of hotel funds.
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing timekeeping records and ensuring accuracy.

General Accounting & Compliance:

  • Assist with general ledger entries, journal postings, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, including tax regulations and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and assist with audits when necessary.

Administrative & Support Duties:

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring proper documentation of invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
  • Support other accounting team members with ad hoc projects and reporting as needed.
