Accounting Associate, Cox Family Office – Finance

Overview:
The Cox Family Office Finance Team is seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our Individual & Trust Accounting team. This role provides the opportunity to gain valuable hands‑on experience across a wide range of accounting activities, supporting the financial administration of high‑net‑worth individuals, families, and trusts. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys structured work, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable in a service‑oriented environment.
This individual will report to the Manager of Accounting in the Finance Group. He/she may collaborate with the additional teams within the Family Office. The Accounting Associate will be based in Atlanta. In-office days will be required.
Position Responsibilities:
The Accounting Associate will assist with day‑to‑day and recurring accounting functions, including:
Entering high volumes of financial data, including credit card transactions, banking activity, and other general ledger entries.
Preparing and posting daily, monthly, and recurring journal entries, including accruals.
Performing bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assisting with fixed asset tracking.
Supporting the monthly close process.
Coordinating accounting matters with other departments as needed.
Learning and adhering to all relevant company accounting policies.
Assisting with special projects and ad hoc tasks assigned.
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, resourceful, able to multi‑task, open to feedback, and eager to learn. This person should be a self‑starter who exercises discretion and professionalism when working with sensitive financial information.
Qualifications:
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (internships welcome).
OR 4 + years of experience with no degree
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially in data-entry work.
Familiarity with basic accounting concepts and financial statements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort with accounting software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn in a team‑oriented environment.
High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
