Summary

We are seeking to hire an experienced Accounting Professional for an Accounting Associate position in our Forest Hill, Maryland corporate headquarters. This full-time employment opportunity offers you experience that will advance your career, knowledge growth, and professional development.


Responsibilities

As an Accounting Associate, your daily duties will include but may not be limited to:

  • Prepare and enter standing journal entries.
  • Assist in month end close, including but not limited to maintaining month end reconciliations.
  • Assist with corporate invoicing into the General Ledger (GL).
  • Bank and cash reconciliations.
  • General ledger (GL) account reconciliations.
  • Assist with annual external review.
  • Sales & Use tax filings and payments in multiple states.
  • Quarterly tax estimate payments and tracking.
  • Prepare financial statements and performance indicator reports.
  • Assist other Accounting departments as needed; Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Purchasing.


Requirements

The primary requirements of an Accounting Associate involve:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but Associates’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 1 year of experience will be considered.
  • Experience with fixed asset systems and depreciation schedules.
  • Experience with business personal property tax listings and filings.
  • Proficient or higher level of experience using Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software a plus but not required.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge performing the duties to be performed in this position.

Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 annually.
