Position Overview 

The Accounting Clerk supports the daily financial operations of the hotel by performing routine accounting and administrative tasks. This role assists with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the Accounting and Finance team to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting within a full-service hotel environment. 


What You’ll Do 

Accounting & Financial Support 

  • Assist with daily accounting functions including data entry, reconciliations, and record maintenance. 
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and other accounting documents accurately and timely. 
  • Assist with posting journal entries and maintaining general ledger records as directed. 
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. 

Cash Handling & Revenue Support 

  • Assist with daily cash handling procedures, deposits, and reconciliations. 
  • Support revenue posting and verification processes.  
  • Assist with balancing reports and identifying discrepancies. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to cash and revenue activity. 

Records Management & Documentation 

  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting files and records. 
  • Ensure proper documentation and retention of financial records in accordance with policy. 
  • Assist with audits, reviews, and compliance documentation. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive information. 

Reporting & Administrative Support 

  • Assist with preparation of financial reports and summaries. 
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities as assigned. 
  • Provide administrative support to the Accounting team. 

Collaboration & Communication 

  • Communicate effectively with internal departments regarding financial inquiries. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders as needed. 
  • Support cross-departmental accounting and finance processes. 


What You’ll Bring 

Required Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Preferred Education & Experience 

  • Previous accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience preferred. 
  • Experience in hospitality or service-oriented environments preferred. 
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 
  • Experience with accounting software or hotel financial systems preferred. 
  • Required Skills and Abilities 
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
