About this role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is committed to accuracy, accountability, and exceptional guest service.

Position Overview 

Our hotel operates 24/7, and this role requires flexibility in scheduling, including varied shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for receiving, verifying, and accurately recording payments in accordance with company policies and accounting procedures, while ensuring compliance with brand standards and privacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Verify Night Audit work, including banquet reconciliations and promotional checks
  • Post ledger payments, reconcile accounts, and manage billing and collections follow-up
  • Reconcile credit card transactions and process billings (AMEX, MasterCard, Visa, etc.)
  • Manage returned checks and maintain General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations
  • Set up new accounts according to company policies
  • Identify discrepancies and report financial or operational concerns to management
  • Maintain compliance with safety, security, and emergency procedures
  • Provide professional communication with guests, vendors, and team members
  • Complete assigned special projects and support departmental initiatives

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting background preferred
  • Hospitality industry experience a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including Excel formulas
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to investigate and resolve basic accounting issues independently
  • Effective communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Must meet legal employment requirements

Working Conditions 

This role is based within the hotel environment and involves extended periods of standing, walking, and light physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Regular use of office equipment and close attention to detail are required. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle may be necessary.
