About this role

Position Summary: Performs general accounting duties to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policy and state and federal regulations. Maintains accounting documentation and filing systems to ensure accuracy of data and ease of access to appropriate documents. Performs duties while ensuring patient and resident confidentiality.

Critical Tasks:

Mail and Filing Records Maintenance

· Coordinate receipt and distribution of Finance internal mail within the department and external mail received through Materials Management Mail Sort Center.
· Maintains both physical and digital accounting document filing systems to ensure ease of access to data and accurate documentation; while upholding GRHC records retention policies.
Accounts Payable
· Review Invoice Edit Reports prior to weekly payment runs to verify payment details are accurate.
· Ensure checks cut are fully supported by approved back up documentation such as invoices, manual check requests, explanation of benefits (EOBs), etc. before they are mailed out
· Communicate with external vendors or employees for timely and accurate disbursement (and notification) of checks and ACHs.
Others
· Manage, monitor and reconcile the petty cash box fund balances to ensure adequacy of funds for smooth operations.
· Administer day to day Finance Purchase Credit Card requests and is responsible for identifying violations to the Corporate Credit Card Policy.
· Adheres strictly to all patient and resident records and information privacy regulations at both the state and federal level.
· Ensures patient, resident, and medical data confidentiality and security.
· Performs related duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or GED required.
    • 1 year of bookkeeping / accounting clerical experience preferred.
    • Prior work experience in a medical environment preferred. 
    • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
