Description of Work

This position is located at Rutheford Correctional Center in Spindale, NC (Rutherford County).
This position will be responsible for the maintenance, oversight and reporting of financial accounting data and specializes in Purchasing and Payables. Also required to perform other accounting duties including but not limited to Trust Fund accounting and canteen reporting. Must be able to analyze data for accuracy, to problem solve, and to interpret policies and procedures. This employee should be able to plan, organize, read and analyze Departmental Policies and unit Standard Operation Procedures. Responsible for ensuring uniform accounting procedures are followed in processing requisitions, warehouse and contract vendor purchases and payables. Duties are to be discharged accurately, complete and in accordance with Department of Adult Correction Fiscal Policy and Procedure. This position is responsible for maintaining all related procurement and payables files and logs as well as assisting with Trust Fund files.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

The salary grade for this position is NC02. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
