About this role

Redwood Credit Union is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern who is currently in their Junior or Senior year in college. This Internship will provide hands-on exposure to core accounting functions, including accounts payable processing, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Our internship offers an introduction to accounting through practical experience with vendor payments, fixed assets, cash ordering, financial statement reporting, and related processes.
 
Internship Details
  • This position is for a full-time, seasonal internship – 40 hours per week.
  • This internship will begin on, June 8, 2026, and end on August 14, 2026 (end date can be modified based on fall college schedule).
  • Ability to provide a recent transcript will be required during the interview process.
  • This position is not eligible for benefits other than what’s required by law.

Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented and able to complete work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to perform data entry, including Accounts Payable invoices.
  • Strong service orientation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Must be a Junior or Senior in college with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
Compensation
$23.00/hourly

Responsibilities
  • Enter and code Accounts Payable invoices.
  • Obtain proper and appropriate approval for Accounts Payable invoices.
  • Assist in the Month End close procedures as assigned.
  • Support monthly General Ledger reconciliation process.
  • Support Bi-Weekly Payroll Process.
  • Support preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Foster positive relationships with other Redwood Credit Union team members.


  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, and turn.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.
