Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Intern eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced finance professionals to support improvements in controls and facilitating costing updates.
The ideal candidate is curious, motivated and excited to apply classroom knowledge to real-world accounting practices. This position will be reporting to our Middleton location at DwyerOmega.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in improving inventory controls and related processes.
- Support Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing updates in collaboration with Operations.
- Contribute to the standardization of RMA and warranty processes.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform additional accounting and finance-related tasks as needed.
Requirements
Essential/Preferred Skills:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Ability to stay organized and focused in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time
- Frequent use of a computer, including typing, viewing monitors, and operating standard office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- May require occasional standing, walking, or moving throughout the office or facility
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry items up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, boxes, or office materials)
- Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a fast-paced environment with potential interruptions
