Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Full‑Time, In‑Office
Position Overview
The Accounting Intern will support the Accounting Department and gain broad exposure across multiple accounting functions. The intern will spend time working within Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and FGO/FGE accounting groups, providing hands‑on experience with core accounting processes while contributing to daily operations and month‑end activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of recurring and ad hoc journal entries
- Analyze and perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support the review and processing of weekly accounts payable batches
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
- Receive, review, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
- Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies as needed
- Extract and compile sales data from point‑of‑sale (POS) systems
- Develop and enhance Excel spreadsheets to improve reporting efficiency
- Collaborate with accounting team members to meet close and reporting deadlines
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing analyses, findings, and recommendations for leadership and key stakeholders
General Intern Program Responsibilities
- Complete a capstone project focused on the assigned discipline and present findings to stakeholders during the final week of the program
- Perform additional administrative and project‑based duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and group communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, create, and interpret business memos, reports, and financial documents
- Comfortable working with financial data, spreadsheets, and accounting systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment
Education & Experience
- Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting
