POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Jackson Healthcare corporate accounting team will be offering a paid internship during the summer of 2026 to a currently enrolled bachelor’s degree student pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance. The intern will gain exposure to an array of corporate accounting activities including transaction processing, monthly close, preparation of financial statements, and special projects collaborating with accounting and information technology allowing for detailed analyses.to provide hands-on experience to enhance their classroom studies.

This role is on site at our office in Alpharetta, GA. Hours are up to 32 hours per week/8 hours per day from Monday to Thursday, 8:30AM-5:30PM, ideally from May 18-July 30, 2026.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support routine accounting transaction processes.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial analysis.
  • Participate in process improvement projects.
  • Other accounting duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED 

  • High school diploma
  • Currently participating in an Accounting and/or Finance degree program with three years of study complete by summer 2026 (i.e., junior year)
  • Knowledge of Basic Accounting Processes
  • Knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of basic office equipment including calculators, copiers, and scanners
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize and work with multiple projects
  • Persistent and dependable, especially with regards to arrival time, attendance, and meeting deadlines

  • Ability to embrace change and shift focus when unexpected work arises.

  • Ability to use discernment to prioritize tasks and decide what to focus on to maximize impact.

  • Ability to consume substantial amounts of data, perform financial analysis and reach conclusions based on such analytics demonstrating value of “wisdom.”

Presentation:

  • Ability to compile a presentation of financial analysis using Excel and PowerPoint and present cross-functional to Accounting and Information Technology organizations demonstrating value of “growth.”

Positivity:

  • Ability to demonstrate positive attitude and come to work with willingness to learn and put “others first” in alignment with values.
