Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is a not-for-profit, Member-owned, and locally operated financial institution serving the financial needs of its communities of Membership. JOB SUMMARY
Assist Accounting Department staff in maintaining accounting records in a balanced condition to ensure financial records and entries are in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) and all other applicable regulatory standards and requirements with the intention of elevating practical accounting knowledge and experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain various supporting logs for general ledger reconciliations.
Post journal entries for clearing out and maintaining general ledger accounts.
Process money order and cashier’s checks stop payments.
Daily reconciliation and funding of money orders and cashier's checks.
Perform fundamental, entry level support, research and analysis for member and Credit Union staff requests.
Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly.
Work as a productive and contributive team member of both the department and the Credit Union team to reach goals.
Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures and regulations.
Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior and performance).
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work cooperatively with others.
All other duties as assigned.
STUDENT INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
As the student intern enters the Credit Union, they are expected to assume, as much as possible, the role of a regular staff member. The responsibilities include:
• Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work cooperatively with others.
• Adhering to Credit Union policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information. Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for his/her actions and activities.
• Maintaining professional relationships with Credit Union employees, members and so forth.
• Utilizing a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession.
• Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the Credit Union setting.
• Developing a self-awareness regarding attitudes, values, behavior patterns, and so forth that influence work.
• Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor and faculty coordinator.
• Providing the Accounting Manager with periodic progress reports.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience – Current full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Accounting or Finance. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be stated on resume.
