General Purpose
The Accounting Intern supports the finance and accounting team with day‑to‑day tasks while gaining hands‑on experience in a professional environment. This role is ideal for a student or early‑career candidate looking to build foundational accounting skills and exposure to real‑world financial operations.
Essential Duties
- Assist with data entry, invoice processing, and account reconciliations.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Prepare basic reports, spreadsheets, and summaries as needed.
- Assist with audits, filing, and other administrative accounting tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on ad‑hoc projects and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks.
Physical Demands
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with regular use of a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data entry, reviewing documents, and completing accounting tasks.
- Occasional standing, walking, or reaching to access files, office supplies, or shared equipment.
- Ability to lift or move items up to 10–15 pounds, such as files, binders, or office materials.
- Visual acuity required for reviewing numerical data, spreadsheets, and financial documents.
