Job Description Accounting Intern


Reports to Controller


FLSA Status - Hourly Non-Exempt


Accounting Intern


Technical Areas of Focus:

 Help evaluate the design of internal controls and make recommendations for improvement

 Assist in documenting financial/accounting process flows, with a focus on internal controls

 Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to internal controls

 Serve as a partner to the accounting team in developing and following processes and procedures

 Deliver a presentation to leadership at the completion of the internship

Core Requirements:

- To qualify for an internship, applicants must be currently enrolled at a college or university pursuing an accounting, finance, or other analytical-type degree

- Familiarity with accounting principles and US GAAP

- Working knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis in Excel

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Up to full-time

- Position is based in N. Charleston, SC

- Reports to Controller


Working environment and physical requirements: 

       

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. ·        

Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.


Travel:  Must be able to travel up to 25%.
