Job Description:
Trulite is seeking a highly collaborative, results-oriented Finance & Accounting Intern eager to learn and execute across both financial analysis and core accounting functions. This position will support monthly P&L reporting and variance analysis for our Architectural Products Group (APG), record monthly accruals, analyze and compile data from asset purchases, and reconcile/analyze various general ledger accounts. Assigned responsibilities will involve several of the primary business accounting processes: procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and fixed assets. This position must understand and comply with the Company's key controls over financial close and reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Regional Finance Director with monthly P&L reporting and variance analysis across APG locations
- Support budget vs. actual analysis and help identify key drivers behind financial results
- Gain exposure to pricing and margin analysis at the product and customer level
- Participate in procurement cost analysis and sourcing projects with the Director of Procurement
- Calculate assigned monthly accruals, including analyzing actual period expenses
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
- Contribute to business results by working cross-functionally with teams, especially Region Finance personnel
- Contribute to creating standardized accounting processes and procedures across the consolidating entities of Trulite
- Engage in activities/initiatives to streamline accounting processes, including data sourcing and reporting
- Other tasks as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Active student pursuing a dual degree or Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting
- Basic understanding of financial statements, including income statement and balance sheet dynamics
- Strong quantitative analytical skills
- Strong personal computer skills, including advanced proficiency with MS Office software, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, SUMIF, pivot tables, text-to-columns, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus (similar ERP to Oracle)
- Experience with SQL a plus
