 Summary/Objective:

The Accounting Intern will participate in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports, analyze financial data, learn about bookkeeping software, and assist with other accounting activities. The Accounting Intern will shadow members of the department to perform related tasks and duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with bookkeeping software
  • Work as part of the Accounting team to organize and analyze data, track information, and support the company and clients
  • Prepare financial reports, such as invoices, income statements and other documents
  • Assist with general accounting month-end closing procedure
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Shadow members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties
  • Assist with research, data entry, recording and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Handle confidential information with honesty and professionalism

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Work and PowerPoint)
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must exhibit a high level of proficiency, accuracy, dependability, and confidentiality
  • Maintain strong technical and organization skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment.
  • Express motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible

Experience/Education:

  • Must be a recent graduate or actively working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting.
  • Must provide evidence of satisfactory completion of introductory accounting courses and demonstrate basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
