What you bring to the table
Beck is looking for an Accounting Intern to join our Finance team. As an Accounting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting financial operations within a fast-paced commercial construction environment. You will assist with day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives while learning how accounting supports project execution and business performance.
This role offers exposure to project accounting, job cost tracking, and corporate finance processes under the supervision of experienced accounting professionals.
The job involves the following essential functions:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice entry and payment tracking
- Support job cost accounting by reviewing and coding project-related expenses
- Help reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and supporting schedules
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
- Utilize accounting and ERP systems for data entry and reporting
- Support audits and internal controls by gathering required documentation
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate financial tracking of construction projects
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and ad hoc financial analysis
- Follow direction, collaborate with team members, and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner

You are detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. You demonstrate strong integrity, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to take initiative.
You are comfortable working with data, enjoy problem-solving, and are interested in understanding how financial processes impact project and business outcomes. An individual with curiosity around construction, finance, and operational efficiency will thrive in this role.
You also meet the following requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Prior internship or relevant experience is a plus but not required
- Exposure to accounting or ERP systems is a plus
Physical Demands:
Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity equipment; constantly communicates with team members and stakeholders; ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods; occasionally moves documents or materials weighing up to 25 lbs; ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
