Summary
The Accounting Rotational Program is designed to accelerate the development of high-potential early career professionals by providing broad exposure to core accounting functions within a fast-growing, private equity-backed renewable energy company. Participants will rotate through key areas of accounting, gaining hands-on experience, building technical capability, and developing a strong understanding of how accounting supports business performance, compliance, and decision-making.
This program is structured to build foundational expertise while identifying individuals who can grow into future roles within the organization.
What You’ll Do
During the program, participants will rotate across several core accounting functions, which may include:
General Accounting
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
Assist in variance analysis and financial statement review
Financial Reporting
Contribute to internal and external reporting requirements
Support audit preparation and documentation
Assist in maintaining compliance with GAAP and company policies
Accounts Payable / Procure-to-Pay
Process invoices and support vendor management activities
Improve efficiency and accuracy in payment processes
Partner with Procurement and Operations teams
Fixed Assets & Project Accounting
Track capital expenditures across renewable energy projects
Support asset capitalization and depreciation processes
Partner with Development and Operations on project cost tracking
Internal Controls & Compliance
Support SOX/internal controls processes and documentation
Assist with compliance reporting and process improvements
Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and reduce risk
Special Projects
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Support system enhancements (e.g., Workday, reporting tools)
Contribute to cross-functional projects impacting Accounting and Finance

High-performing participants may be considered for available opportunities based on business need, performance, and organizational fit.
Working Conditions
Location: Charlotte, NC, onsite, potential exposure to field operations
Program Duration: 12–18 months
Rotation Structure: 3–4 rotations (approximately 4 months each)
Mentorship: Each participant is paired with a finance leader and program sponsor
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field such as finance
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree (e.g., master’s in accounting, MBA)
- Progress toward CPA certification or intent to pursue
- Internship experience in accounting, audit, or finance
- Experience with or exposure to financial systems (e.g., NetSuite) and/or advanced Excel-based analysis Foundational understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
