About the Department
We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist 1/2/Tech within the Financial Services section at DPS-OMF.
Position Duties
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Other Qualifications
• Prepares and assists with balancing the monthly Office of Motor Vehicle Escrow Disbursements.
• Assists in the classification of revenues to include balancing and reconciling assigned Department of Public Safety accounts.
• Administers accounts receivable database to include entering, processing, billing, daily balancing, and monthly reconciliation of the subsidiary accounts receivable system
• Reviews and processes records of financial transactions, including invoices and/or deposit information relative to collections, refunds, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Career Progression: This position may be filled at the Accounting Specialist 1/2/Technician, depending on the selected applicant's experience.
Location: This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The special entrance bi-weekly rates for each title are as follows:
Accounting Specialist 1 (AS609) -$1234.40
Accounting Specialist 2 (AS610) -$1320.80
Accounting Technician (AS612) -$1512.00
