Accounting Specialist

Senske Family of Companies (SFC) is currently hiring for an Accounting Specialist to assist the finance department with various accounting-related duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Bill payment and application
• Posting of checks and other deposits
• Work with other accountants to consolidate supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts as assigned. Identify and timely resolve/clear any reconciling items
• Ensure that entries are appropriately classified and in the correct account and are fully supported
• Prepare and record adjusting journal entries as needed
• Business License renewals
• Respond timely to both internal and external requests as needed
• Periodically solicit feedback from internal contacts for performance and improvement
• Communicate with accountants about any issues
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-Year Accounting certification or degree OR (Relevant work experience may be substituted for certification or degree)
• Previous experience with: Sage software (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, (especially Excel skills), Understanding of accounting principles including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, payment posting, accrual entries, etc.
