Classified-Exempt Position


Parks and Recreation/Pipestem Resort State Park Under general supervision, performs advanced, complex clerical and accounting support work in the Accounting Office at Pipestem Resort State Park, including reviewing and analyzing financial forms, records, and reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with laws and regulations; classifying and coding transactions; examining accounts, ledgers, invoices, claims, purchase orders, receipts, and related documents; posting entries and making corrections or adjustments; maintaining records; performing moderately complex posting, encumbering funds, and balancing receipts; preparing bank deposits, checks, payroll sheets, financial statements, and analytical reports; compiling data for budgets, summaries, requests, and cost projections; auditing time cards; coordinating with Accounts Receivable; assisting guests with billing inquiries and refunds; verifying revenues and making change for outlying facilities; training staff and reviewing work for accuracy; sorting mail; preparing documents from instructions; operating calculators, spreadsheets, property management and point-of-sale systems; detecting and resolving errors; communicating effectively; maintaining professional working relationships. Performs all related duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.

Experience:  Three years of full time or equivalent part time paid bookkeeping, accounting or related experience.

Substitution:  Successful completion of college-level accounting courses from an regionally accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of three semester hours equals six months experience;
OR
Successful completion of related business school or vocational training may be substituted for the experience through an established formula.
