Duties

Performs accounting customer support to all customers. Performs full range of accounting duties through the use of the Oracle financial systems. Receives and responds to live phone and e-mail messages using the fully automated capabilities of Right Now Technologies (RNT) to assist customers in classifying and verifying a wide variety of accounting documents in order to ensure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information and to prepare/validate system control sheets with appropriate accounting codes. Assist customers in maintaining double entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers and reconciling accounts, and transcribing to general ledger for closeout of all accounts. Answers customers questions on how to flow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the Oracle financial systems. Trace discrepancies in response to customer queries or other Shared Service Center (SSC) division requests. Assists customers with support in reports prepared to include profit and loss statements, financial statements and miscellaneous financial reporting data. Performs both accounting and customer support functions independently at the full performance level of accounting duties assigned with occasional support or intervention from the supervisor. May be required to assist in training new employees on the RNT system. Performs other related duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience: Basic accounting experience with the interrelationship of accounts and the effects of debits and credit transactions on the overall system of general ledgers. Experience with NAF accounting practices and procedures. Experience with the accounting functions of Oracle financial or similar accounting systems. Experience with training methods and preparation of training briefing materials. Desired Work Experience: Experience working with MS Office application software. Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
