The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) has three major operational divisions:  Colorado National Guard (Army and Air), Civil Air Patrol, and Veterans Affairs.  These divisions utilize state and federal resources to provide our communities, State and nation with a ready military force for national defense and State emergency response as well as serving our Colorado Veterans.

Position Duties

This work exists to provide budget, accounting, and financial recording and reporting services for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs in accordance with applicable State and Federal rules, regulation, requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting principles and Governmental Accounting Standards Board standards. 

This term-limited, two-year position exists to oversee and ensure the accuracy of labor allocation data within the Kronos timekeeping system. The position acts as the primary liaison for supervisors regarding staff hours, managers the technical integration of Kronos text files, performs complex labor allocation reconciliations in coordination with the Payroll Accountant, and develops and delivers Kronos training to department staff. 

  • Reviews Kronos timecards specifically for labor-allocated staff. Works directly with unit supervisors to update, correct, and accurately record staff hours as reflected on submitted timecards. 
  • Pulls the Kronos integration file on a scheduled basis for monthly and biweekly staff. Reviews extracted data for accuracy and manually corrects any missing lines and/or data errors within the text file prior to final processing. 
  • Performs detailed labor allocation reconciliations. Executes these reconciliations following the specific frameworks and procedures designed by the Payroll Accountant. 
  • Designs training curriculum and instructional materials regarding Kronos application input. Develops training materials for staff and supervisors to ensure proper labor allocation coding and system usage. 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience Only:

  • One (1) year of relevant experience in accounting or payroll reconcillation related to the work assigned to this position

OR

Education and Experience:
  • A combination of related accounting education and/or relevant accounting and/or payroll experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to one (1) year
