As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll play an important function in assisting the day-to-day operations of the City’s Human Resources Department.Position Duties
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant assists with essential functions such as providing quality customer service to both employees and our community, processing payments through accounts payable, assisting with budget preparation, conveying sensitivity to HR related data, and providing administrative and clerical support in various areas of Human Resources such as benefits, recruiting, and payroll.
Expected duties include:
- Responding to external/internal service and information requests
- Processing accounts payable for the HR department
- Entering timesheets
- Scheduling meetings, maintaining electronic calendars, and making travel arrangements.
- Typing, transcribing, editing, and proofing letters, memos, reports, minutes and Reports to Council
- Maintaining department paper and electronic filing system and employee records
Minimum Qualifications
- Education equivalent to a high school diploma.
- Experience providing professional administrative and clerical support to a team of professionals in a business/office environment.
- Knowledge of Human Resources functions.
- Experience working with invoices and basic accounts payable transactions.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Strong customer service orientation
Other Qualifications
- Associate degree or certification as an administrative professional.
- Experience with budgeting and expense tracking.
- Experience with timekeeping and payroll processing.
- Experience working in a municipal government setting.
- Experience providing administrative support to a public Board or Commission.
- Experience working in an organization with unionized labor.
Drug screening and criminal background check will be required. The annual starting salary range is $59,781 - $68,055 DOQ, plus an excellent fringe benefits package. Applications must be submitted online no later than Monday, May 11, 2026.
