This position is located in the Calcasieu Child Welfare office in Lake Charles, LA.

We’re looking for an Administrative Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact at the agency in our Child Welfare Office in Calcasieu Parish, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties:

  • Setting up case folders on clients according to program involvement.
  • Process payments for office equipment, security guard using purchase orders and other office needs.
  • Maintaining expenditure folders on foster children and staff.
  • Serves as receptionist. 
  • Provides back-up to Child Welfare Services Assistants and Social Services Analyst. 
  • Preparing and submitting outgoing mail for staff.
  • Perform other clerical duties for child welfare programs as needed.

Position-Specific Details:
Location: This vacancy is located in the Calcasieu Child Welfare Office   
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be etermined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.  
Compensation: The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Works Schedule:  Typically, work hours are 8:00AM to 4:30PM, Monday - Friday.  Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for.  Some positions require working shifts.
