We’re looking for an Administrative Coordinator (Mailroom Coordinator) to join our Auxiliary Administration team.


This position supports the daily operations of the LSU Health Shreveport Campus Mailroom, which serves approximately 255 departments and more than 5,000 faculty, staff, and students. Working in compliance with USPS regulations and institutional policies, the Mailroom Coordinator I receives, sorts, processes, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail and packages while maintaining confidentiality, security, accurate records, and efficient mail services.


Under the general supervision of the Mailroom Supervisor, the incumbent must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Work schedules rotate between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. start times, with overtime as needed. A valid driver's license is required to operate a university vehicle for mail pickup and delivery. Regular attendance and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Job Duties:

  • Mail Processing & Distribution: Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail while ensuring accuracy and USPS compliance.
  • Mail Pickup & Delivery: Collect and deliver mail and packages across campus and affiliated locations.
  • Postage & Bulk Mail: Process bulk mailings, operate postage systems, and manage departmental postage charges.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with postal services, shipping, and mail-related questions.
