As an Administrative Professional supporting People Operations, you’ll help strengthen the County’s workforce by coordinating key initiatives, supporting employee services, and ensuring smooth, responsive HR operations. From assisting with projects and communication to solving problems and supporting the People Operations department, your work will enhance the employee experience and help maintain a strong, effective organization. Position Duties

Education and Experience:

An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Human Resources and/or Public Administration Preferred
  • Prior Human Resources experience highly desirable

JOB SUMMARY

Performs professional administration and coordination associated with a specific assigned area of discipline, requiring the exercise of judgment and tact in day-to-day activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs administrative duties including written reports, memorandums, letters, and electronic correspondence, interaction with vendors, and communication through telephone and meetings. 
  • Provides advanced, detailed and accurate written reports on all related work activities, including annual, monthly, and special status reports as required. 
  • May serve as department representative in various outside organization meetings.
  • Provides technical advice, information, and assistance in the area of assignment. Consults with other organizational stakeholders in the area of project assignment. 
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with County employees, outside agencies, auditors, consultants, vendors, contractors, and citizens.  
  • Provides exceptional customer assistance, problem-solving, and/or complaint resolution by all forms of communication. 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, plans, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related computer programs and software applications.
  • Analytical, organizational and research skills. 
  • Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.
  • Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
  • Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer, multi-line telephone system, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions. 
  • Ability to ascertain priorities and meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Ability to provide internal/external guidance and customer assistance via all forms of communication. 
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems. 
  • Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes.
  • Ability to author reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, service providers, other employees, and the general public.
