About this role
The Admissions Recruiter represents the College by traveling to community and state institutions, participating in career and college fairs, and engaging with students, parents, and guidance counselors throughout the state. The position emphasizes relationship-building and student guidance, particularly at institutions that serve as strong feeder schools for technical and computing-focused programs. The ability to manage frequent travel and represent the College and University in a professional, customer-focused manner is essential.
This position maintains close collaboration with the USF Office of Admissions to support aligned recruitment initiatives and ensure consistency in outreach and enrollment activities. The role requires a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. While the primary responsibility is undergraduate recruitment, the position may also provide periodic support for graduate program recruitment.
Opened in 2025 and powered by a University of South Florida record $40 million gift from Arnie and Lauren Bellini, USF’s Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing is the first in Florida, and among the first in the nation, to unify AI, cybersecurity, and computing within a single college. More than 65 faculty members focus on cutting-edge research and educating 3,000+ bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students across 15 degree programs in computer science, cybersecurity, AI, information technology, and computer engineering. The college emphasizes industry-relevant education and experiential learning to prepare students for real-world challenges. It also serves as the central hub for AI and cybersecurity research and teaching at USF, collaborating with colleges and units across the university.
This is an in-person, on-campus position with limited remote work, as appropriate, to accommodate travel requirements throughout the state.
Responsibilities
Recruitment and Outreach
- Represent the Bellini College in recruitment and enrollment activities throughout the state.
- Communicate with prospective students, parents, and community members through in-person appointments, email, Microsoft Teams, and telephone outreach.
- Conduct occasional overnight, in-state travel to attend college fairs, deliver presentations at high schools and colleges, and facilitate educational sessions with guidance counselors and related stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with college counselors and community partners on behalf of USF.
- Focus recruitment efforts on community and state colleges with strong technical programs that serve as feeder institutions for Bellini College.
Admissions and Student Engagement
- Provide accurate, timely admissions and program information to prospective and newly admitted students.
- Maintain effective, ongoing communication with students throughout the recruitment and enrollment process.
- Advise students on application, admission, and enrollment requirements in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused experience that supports informed decision-making and enrollment success.
Collaboration, Marketing and Strategic Outreach
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with peers in the USF Office of Admissions to coordinate outreach efforts, ensure consistency in enrollment messaging, and to collaborate on any recruitment activities.
- Collaborate with university faculty, staff, departments, and community partners to support shared recruitment and enrollment goals.
- Report to and collaborate with the communications and marketing team to support email and digital outreach initiatives, including the development and maintenance of college-specific drip campaigns.
- Routinely meet with the Bellini College undergraduate and graduate advising teams to ensure an understanding of all programmatic requirements.
- Provide insights from recruiting activities to inform marketing materials, messaging, and outreach strategies.
- Review performance metrics related to recruitment and marketing campaigns and recommend updates or enhancements as needed
Data Analysis, Reporting and Institutional Knowledge
- Work with our Assistant Director of Information Management to compile, analyze, and maintain data related to recruitment and enrollment activities.
- Assist with routine, periodic, and ad hoc reports to support planning, assessment, and data-informed decision-making.
- Apply a thorough understanding of university admission requirements, policies, and procedures in all recruitment and enrollment activities.
- Interpret and apply institutional guidelines accurately to ensure compliance in recruitment, admissions advising, and enrollment communications.
- Ensure adherence to data privacy standards, reporting requirements, and professional conduct expectations when representing the College and University.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in education, communication, marketing, public relations, sales, or a related field.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
• Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
• SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
• A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
• (a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
• (b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
• (c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
• (d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
• (e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
Preferred Requirements
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
This position requires strong communication, organizational, and prioritization skills. Demonstrates clear and effective communication, both orally and in writing. Possesses an understanding of academic admission requirements, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and support institutional goals.
