After-Care Assistant

St. James Cathedral School, located in downtown Orlando, FL, has an opening for a highly qualified, part-time After Care Assistant for the 2020-21 school year. The ideal candidate will be approachable, friendly, and interested in working with students in PreK3 through 8th grade.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and direct small groups of students in after school activities.
• Provide age-appropriate, engaging and interactive activities for elementary grade levels.
• Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. James Cathedral School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times.
• Assist in the planning and implement of a daily program that meets the needs of the children in attendance.
• Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with peers, teachers, staff, parents, students and administration to create a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
• Be willing to fulfill job related responsibilities in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
• Relate well to children of a variety of ages and grade levels.
