The aftermarket business is a critical growth engine for Ford Motor Company and is integral to advancing our position as a visionary vehicle and mobility services company.

As the Aftermarket Distribution Network Manager, based in SE Michigan, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the Aftermarket Sales Team across both the independent aftermarket and dealership spaces. You will leverage your sales, service, and marketing acumen to ensure that Ford Authorized Distributor (FAD) network—encompassing Warehouse Distributors (WD), Bulk Oil Distributors (BOD), and National Accounts—has the capacity and footprint to maximize Motorcraft’s penetration into independent repair facilities (IRFs) while maintaining and improving dealership service levels.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering geographic gap closure actions with incremental sales accountability.  You will also leverage data-driven analysis to provide the strategic direction and tactical execution necessary to achieve regional objectives and shape Motorcraft’s distribution and marketing strategy.

1. Network Strategy & Market Representation

  • Evaluate & Optimize the Network: Assess, review, and make critical business determinations on all WD, BOD, and National Account prospects, expansions, location changes, and terminations.
  • Drive Footprint Expansion: Lead the national execution of all Market Representation actions and continue the strategic execution of the "Code Everything" initiative to accurately map and expand our distributor footprint and market reach.
  • Legal & Compliance Alignment: Partner closely with Ford’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) to navigate and resolve complex Market Representation and marketing legal matters.

2. Strategic Collaboration & Business Planning

  • National Business Planning: Collaborate directly with the Aftermarket National Sales Manager, Regional Aftermarket Managers, and the National Account Parts Sales Manager to develop, align, and execute a cohesive national business plan.
  • Field Support & Training: Develop and deliver targeted training programs for the Aftermarket Field Team to elevate their capabilities and strategic execution.
  • Executive Support: Serve as a key strategic partner and advisor to the Aftermarket National Sales Manager on various high-priority growth initiatives. deliver effective presentations to support business planning, executive meetings and customer engagements.

3. Data Analytics & Performance Management

  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Deeply analyze sales and purchase data to identify high-potential growth prospects, performance challenges, and geographic market opportunities.
  • Equip the Field with Insights: Generate actionable performance metrics and analytical tools for the broader Aftermarket team to guide their strategic focus and enhance their local business reviews.
  • Address Underperformance: Support Aftermarket Managers with data-driven insights to identify, address, and rehabilitate low-performing FADs.

4. Operations, Marketing & Systems Compliance

  • Budget & Initiative Management: Manage a portfolio of Purchase Orders (POs) to fund and support the Aftermarket Team's localized marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Communications: Draft, review, and publish critical FAD Bulletins on MCDistributor to ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication with our network.
  • Systems Integrity: Maintain and manage systems compliance across multiple Ford-proprietary tools and platforms.

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of dealership contact experience.
  • Must be willing and able to relocate, both now and in the future, for career progression.
  • Ability to travel (limited travel required up to 30%).
  • Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.

  • Prior experience in the Automotive Aftermarket or Fleet sectors.
  • A strong background in marketing, sales, service, and customer experience.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of dealership operations and market representation.
  • Management-level or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent account management, relationship-building, and communication skills.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.     

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
