DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on supervising bridge maintenance crews and coordinating activities that support safe and efficient operations across Allegheny County. As an Allegheny Bridge Foreman, you will perform the following duties:
- Crew Supervision: Oversee bridge maintenance crews as they complete repair tasks and operate equipment safely
- Project Coordination: Plan work phases and align activities with directives from maintenance coordinators
- Safety Oversight: Ensure proper work methods, hazard awareness, and required safety precautions for all assignments
- Resource Management: Maintain tools, materials, and equipment to support ongoing operations and project needs
- Documentation Duties: Inspect sites, record activities, and provide electronic updates to supervisors as requested
- Training Support: Arrange and participate in required trainings to keep crews compliant with program standards

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work schedule may vary seasonally, due to vendor-controlled hours, and/or due to operational needs
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Organization or Location Restriction:
- This posting is restricted to Department of Transportation, Allegheny County employees only.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 2; or
- Three years of experience as a skilled tradesman including one year of supervisory experience on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
- Three years of supervisory experience on a maintenance or construction project; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
