Job Title
Analytical Lab Intern
We are seeking a motivated Ceramic Analytical Lab Intern to join our team for the summer. This role offers hands-on experience in the analysis and characterization of ceramic materials, supporting research and development efforts in a laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in material science, ceramics, and analytical techniques used to evaluate material properties.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As an Analytical Lab Intern, you will own your own project, collaborating with teammates to develop and characterize new materials analysis techniques. Responsibilities can include:
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of ceramic materials using techniques such as X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), electrical, and thermal analysis.
- Prepare and process ceramic samples for various analytical and mechanical testing procedures.
- Assist in data collection, interpretation, and documentation of experimental results.
- Support the development and optimization of testing methodologies for ceramic materials.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and technicians on research and development projects.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and experimental results.
Education:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience with analytical techniques such as XRF, SEM, EDS, electrical, and thermal analysis is a plus.
- Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required.

- Basic understanding of ceramic materials and their properties.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and technical writing skills
