Position Summary Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic techniques and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA). Responsibilities Responsibilities Restocks anesthesia supplies, equipment, and medications in the operating room following each surgical case. Maintains appropriate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies within departmental service areas and assists with supply ordering as needed. Cleans, inspects, and maintains anesthesia equipment used in the delivery of anesthetic services. Sets up invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia providers. Responds to and assists anesthesiologists and CRNAs during perioperative anesthesia emergencies. Demonstrates competency in designated anesthesia technician tasks and skills as outlined in Surgical Services competency standards. Communicates pertinent patient and procedural information to anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and perioperative nursing staff. Transports and delivers supplies, equipment, and medications throughout the facility in accordance with organizational policies (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy medications). May have limited access to medication storage areas as required for job responsibilities. Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and safety standards. Performs advanced anesthesia machine troubleshooting and supports equipment functionality. Assists providers with nerve blocks and TAP block procedures, including required setup. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of SonoSite ultrasound equipment. Sets up and assists providers with central line placement procedures. Demonstrates basic knowledge and use of the Belmont rapid infusion system. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 1–2 years of experience working as an Anesthesia Technician preferred. Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or an equivalent Healthcare Provider certification. Demonstrates knowledge of anesthesia equipment, supplies, and operating room procedures. Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and commitment to patient safety.
