Hyatt Regency Waikiki is a 1,230-room beachfront resort located steps from the azure waters and soft sands of Waikiki Beach. The Area Talent Acquisition & Training Manager leads recruitment strategy and learning initiatives for Hyatt Regency Waikiki and Hyatt Centric Waikiki. This role plays a vital part in strengthening service excellence, reinforcing Hyatt brand standards, and cultivating a culture of care for our guests and colleagues.

This position requires proven success in high-volume recruiting within a unionized hotel environment. This role will ensure hiring practices align with Hyatt brand standards and the collective bargaining agreement while partnering with leaders on workforce planning across two properties.

Equally important, this role strengthens Hyatt’s employer brand in the local community by building partnerships with universities, hospitality programs, and educational institutions to create sustainable talent pipelines and early career opportunities.

The Area Talent Acquisition & Training Manager also leads onboarding and required training programs to ensure colleagues have the skills, tools, and confidence to deliver Hyatt’s signature hospitality with an authentic Hawaiian sense of Aloha.

Salary range for this position is $72,000 to $85,000.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and sourcing strategies for two properties.
  • Partner with department leaders to guide hiring decisions and workforce planning.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, including seniority and job bidding processes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local universities, colleges, and community organizations.
  • Represent Hyatt at career fairs and community networking events.
  • Lead new hire onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Oversee required training programs, including safety, emergency response, food safety, and compliance training.
  • Maintain accurate training records in Hyatt’s learning systems.
  • Promote continuous learning, career growth, and internal mobility.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience required.
  • High-volume recruiting experience required.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and labor compliance preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and assess top talent.
  • Experience building partnerships with educational institutions preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
  • Knowledge of local culture highly valued.
