Job Overview:

Supports the factory’s performance, assists in developing the organization's production & planning structure. Participates in the implementation and improvement of manufacturing production processes and methods.

Responsibilities:

Recommends best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability

Assist with the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Participates in investigating problems, analyzing root causes and deriving resolutions. Will use 8D Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainable quality products

Supports operational strategies to achieve production and financial objectives

Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes

Provides input for budget preparation and monitor expenses and profitability

Writes spec books; requests and evaluation of supplier quotations

Assists in the design, documentation, and implementation of medium-scale manufacturing processes. Checks feasibility of product changes

Performs a variety of tasks to plan and accomplish goals

Evaluates current production activities and make recommendations for improvements

Periodically ensures that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standards

Participates in cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards

Contributes to product and process quality design testing methods

Proposes planning standards, methods, and procedures

Plans workplaces considering ergonomics

Stays current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes

Assists team members to accomplish production goals

Supports medium-scale projects from beginning to end.

Make recommendations for manpower to impact efficiency.

Work with Group leaders and team leaders to identify potentials for waste elimination

Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings

Will perform other duties as assigned

 


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree required*.

0-2 years of relevant experience required, strongly preferring automotive, such as Body in White, Paint, and Assembly.

*6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.

Knowledge & Skills: 

Knowledge of manufacturing methods/procedures and process technology.

Ability to present technical information.

Written and verbal communication at all levels within the organization with good negotiation skills.

Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.

Knowledge of joining technologies such Mig/Mag, spot, and laser welding, and gluing a plus

Experience in dimensional accuracy desired.
